really truly unmanaged as they are swarms that have escaped from managed
colonies and have therefore been selected before they swarmed.  A truly
feral, unmanaged colony must be a very rare thing these days, certainly in
most of the UK".
Here in West Dorset, UK, there are many colonies in Churches. I monitor the three nearest me to see whether they are flying before the swarming season so I'm sure that it's the same colony and not just a swarm moving in when they've died. They have all been going continuously for well over a decade.
