beekeeping industry decides it is worthwhile to invest in.
That decision will be based upon consumer demand.
Currently, commercial queen producers have little problem selling every
queen they produce, largely because the buyers don't have the choice of
buying reliably resistant stock.
But the moment that buyers have that choice -- if they are willing to pay a
premium for queens that produce colonies that require no mite control --
the producers will respond.
This process is already in play.
