My apologies if I missed it, but I understood that the main thrust of the present discussion at-hand was considering the development of potential phenotypic and genetic markers of local adaptation in a given population?

A handful of peer-researched field trials conducted throughout the past few decades have been referenced which have explored this question in managed apicultural settings - which seems to be a bit different than the assertion of, '... intellectual philosophizing, citing genetic minutiae ...' relating to '... purebred isolated populations ...'?

I have the utmost confidence that the Bee-L list is more than capable of appropriately handling nuance and context and I will look forward to more thoughtful commentary on the subject at-hand.
