It is possible that adapatation might not necessarily show up in DNA. There are several (at least) other ways that environmental adfaptation can be passed on and shared.

Beekeepers are convinced they see adapatation, exhibited in various ways, and in fairly short timespans.

Respected beekeepers have even speculated that honey bees have cultures analagous to human cultures.
