Neither accusation has any basis in fact.
Yes, some/many/all of the claims may be described as "puffery", but they have SOME science to back up their posture, so they are being truthful, and not being anti-competitive, nor are they engaging in unfair competition.
In a similar vein, the misnomer "raw honey" was used by those with.... ummm... flexible ethics to differentiate THEIR honey from the honey of others. Same thing with "treatment free honey".
As a result of the indoctrination about "raw honey", I am asked if I heat my honey. My honest reply is that no, I neither heat nor blend my honey. But I do uncap and extract in a very sunny and warm room, so the sun certainly does warm up my honey. But I am only asked about what I do, not what the sun does.
