Thta is very true.  I learned that one fall when I inverted wood brood chambers, pushed themass of frames out oin one piece, invertedan EPS box over and set the hives upto winter.

The bees had little time to adjust and did not winter well compared to the un-transferred hives. In subsequent years when the bees ahd been in EPS all summer, they wintered as well or better.

So true.

In regard insuation, after many years of experimentation, I found empiracly that, for my operation, top insulation mattered the most year-round. but especially winter and spring, and insulating floors was a waste.
