To many, "climate change" sounds too nebulous and intangible to grasp as the scale is beyond our daily imagination. In more practical terms, I am more concerned about our obsession to mow the lawn religiously. While I understand the importance of keeping your yard well-kept to fend off ticks, among others, our lawn care is the third agricultural activity (after the land and the sea operations) that consumes tons of chemicals (herbi-, insecti- and pesticides), wasting million gallons of water, and forcing the emission of gas into the air almost every other weekend--while we almost never enjoy the "afternoon tea party" on the lawn, during which we can whine about the disappearing pollinators.

This third agricultural obsession does not produce a single crop for us to eat, granted it maintains the mortgage value for a while, to ultimately kill us, the most intelligent species of them all. Really?
