You've missed the point. What works well one year may have the opposite result the next year. What works here may not work there. To me, the only information of value is what works here the most reliably. I know several beekeepers who keep in the neighborhood of 500 hives. One wraps, the other doesn't. But one is near a very large lake and the other isn't. I know another beekeeper with around 500 colonies and he wraps his hives in groups of four with bubble pack, top insulation, etc. Last I heard, he was taking most of them to Florida.
