Indoor wintering involves relatively constant ventilation rates and
temperature and humidity values. Outdoor wintering obviously does not.
So to my mind this is two separate questions:
1. At what ambient environment do bees best overwinter at? So one can set
ambient environment (i.e. wind speed, temperature and humidity) as a
variable while holding other variables (cluster size, stores volume, cavity
resistance, etc.) constant to consider this point and;
2. At what envelope resistance and/or ventilation exchange rate value(s) do
bees best over winter at?
Otherwise, I am unclear how one can derive an informed opinion about the
relative merits of cavity resistance by comparing indoor versus outdoor
wintering.
