Well, this time of year is best for marking non-italian queens
so, yet again, the bees made me think I am losing my mind ...!!
The last hive in that yard, I was sure that the queen was marked,
(also, unfortunately slightly nasty,, 5 stings)
it was a late swarm, ~aug 1, very strong (I actually posted here)
wall to wall, 2 deep boxes, all frames well covered
There was a couple empty slots (1/box), now all filled with comb,
so in the process of getting a frame in that place I ran across the queen,
yellow dot, carny, so I knew where she came from
This year, now there is a green dot queen (and I didn't see any other)
What are the odds, not only 2 queens in swarm, but both marked?
OR am I indeed losing my mind?
