SEAMS?
Many in Canada use single deeps as a brood chamber. Apparently, most in the US use doubles. Is there any instruction regarding separating the two boxes in a double brood arrangement in order to treat the lower half of the cluster. James mentioned 4-5 seams which I would predict to be lost over winter if it occurred in a single where 7-9 seams are normal.
