Black locust is native in central PA, but its bloom is quite unreliable. From what Ive seen it propagates very well from root runners and less so by seed, although it certainly does produce seed pods. It is also successful because it is a legume and thus can establish more readily than many other plants in nitrogen-poor soils, There are many other aggressive trees i’d be happier to see go away (box elder for one, which is native but aggressive and undesirable, and ailanthus which has nothing to recommend it_)
