  * mature nest in a season has been estimated at 6,000 on average. But the largest colonies could produce more than 15,000 individuals

So, can someone clarify?

Based on the how I read this, the TOTAL number of individual insects in a season would be between 6K - 15K. But how long is the "season" and what is the individual insect's life expectancy? Did I read this correctly?

Knowing those numbers might indicate the avg nest size could be in the 300 - 750 insect quantity at a given time during the season...

This could make a difference on how big a threat this pest might be.

Thanks,
Joe
