Varroa free bees (not treated or cured, but that have always been Varroa free) from Scottish islands still have detectable DWV. No disease, but clearly measurable viral loads. It's not going anywhere.

Australia did claim to have DWV-free bees before the NSW incursion, but I'm not certain what their limit of detection was. It needs to be very low ... absence of evidence is not evidence of absence.
