Nearly every US beekeeper has at least heard Troy's name, he ran the small
business that did the "staff" work for the volunteer-beekeeper elected
officers of the American Beekeeping Federation for decades, humorously also
running a few other associations out of the same offices, such as a group of
prison wardens.

He had his own operation in the 1970s, "Fore's Honey Farms".

He also published the "Speedy Bee", which was often not so "speedy" in
getting issues out the door on a regular basis, but a good "business of
beekeeping" newsletter.

He did yeoman work for "the industry" in the political venues, joking that
he needed someone else to be the "poster child" for beekeeping.

He passed away this week.
