As with so much of this discussion and absolute statements, it all comes down to semantics. 

"Breed'?  -- 'reproducing. propagating. multiplying. producing.' --

Maybe not 'reproduce, multiply, propagate', but *produce*.  Plausibly, even probably.

I can see it now.  A man walks into a bar and orders a pilsner and a plate of pig's wings.
