Maybe I have missed something since the initial media blast of the vaccine. Is there any data of efficacy in real world field trials? Has anyone called and received a quote that they are willing to share?

I personally have not detected a case of AFB in a very long time. I stopped prophylactic treatment well before the VFD directive. Maybe the increase of hygienic behavior or just good luck but my experience is far from unique. I raise around 50 queens a year and without a lot more information I would not pay a nickel. Buying a "pig in a poke" applies here. I do hope someone conducts a scientifically sound trial and it should not involve an independent beekeeper putting their own colonys at risk. Beta trials by customers has a poor record and does not induce confidence in a supplier.

If I have missed something please educate the list.

Paul
