Shortly after Goggle bought out Deja News they extended the archive back 
to 1981. Not 100% but close. Despite Google Groups currently being 
useless the archives still exist. Some where...

Off topic, but remember first learning to 'change offsets' in the usenet 
group about Deja News ~25 years ago. No, not hacking but appears so to 
those who do not understand.
