Something I did not see mentioned. If you get a weed eater, get one with
a straight shaft. Curved shafts wear out much quicker than straight ones
of the same brand. In the US Stihl is the overwhelming choice of
professionals, could not justify the expense so went with Echo. Two years
and so far pleased with it.

If you know a trucker, or some one in shipping & receiving, see if they
can get you some used 'friction mats'. Recycled rubber mats that also
work well to kill grass in front of hives and under fences. Grass needs
to be short, but can move them after about a week.
