This Alert from the Government of New South Wales (28 June) and the "new emergency order" are worth having a look at.  https://www.dpi.nsw.gov.au/biosecurity/seasonal-pests-and-diseases/spring/varroa-mite

I'm curious to know what compensation will be paid to beekeepers whose colonies and equipment are destroyed as part of the eradication effort.  Lack of adequate compensation was a deterrent to reporting infestations in New Brunswick (Canada) once Varroa crossed the border from Maine in 1989.
