>I have contacted Mr. Studer and will report back to the list should I learn
any further details concerning his microscopy results.

I heard back from Mr. Mike Studer, Tennessee State Apiarist. He noted:

*'I have not seen any tracheal mites since 2018. *

*If I am remembering correctly it was 2012 when I saw really high
numbers of tracheal mite and had significant losses due to tracheal
mite. *

*In each case where we have seen an outbreak, the beekeeper had
stopped treating for tracheal mites for two or more years prior to the
outbreaks. Historically, in TN we have seen tracheal mites surge on a
3 to 4 year cycle. The severity of the outbreaks have been decreasing
over the last 20 years.'*
