What I was getting at here is that there tend to be many assumptions about disease. The most prevalent seems to be agent plus victim equals disease. Slam dunk. We have seen that everywhere recently, but it is not that simple.
We gave up on the miasma theory long ago and have gone for a simplistic version of germ theory.
I propose this: agent plus suitable conditions times catalyst(s) minus unsuitable conditions minus or times agent antagonists plus and minus unknowns plus victim *maybe* equals disease.
Clumsy, I know, but does this make sense and shed some light?
The outliers are always far more interesting than the cluster.
