"Can't speak to the study, but "Mybthbusters Busted That Myth"
My oldest son (born in 1964) loved Cheerios and it was about he only
thing he did eat after he graduated to solids. We, of course, were
worried until a Consumer Reports article on breakfast cereals found that
Cheerios was the most nutritious of all the cereals at that time. It
actually kept rats alive while other cereals did not.
Kids loved it as snacks and still do.
Science is on the side of Cheerios. Especially Honey Nut Cheerios (which
keeps the thread associate with Honey).
