The issue is not can bees survive with Varroa but can they survive the
pathogens the Varroa transmit.
It is interesting that the pathogens were around before Varroa and the bees
survived. Plus it has been shown that the bees survive with varroa if there
are no pathogens (got this from a good source about bees in Canada). But
the combo is deadly. Sort of like ticks and pathogens with us. Ticks, no
big deal. One Tick with lyme disease, a big deal.
So the bees' resistance to Varroa has already been shown.
