Karl Showler did the original demonstration at Gormanston, using a 12 foot rod. He was also demonstrating in several BBC programs and one of his stories was that they had spent all morning searching holding the rod high and when they had lunch the rod was lowered and lo and behold the drones were at the lowered rod.

At one of the Gormanston demonstrations the queen was flying at head height!
