What I do with extracted supers at the end of the season prior to storage in
hopes of getting a 100% clean out:

1.	My supers are post-extraction, so you will need to at least score
the cappings with a cappings scratcher to break the cells open.
2.	2 or 3 lengths of good stout nylon string are tied tightly around
the super to hold the frames in place
3.	The super is placed upside down on the hive. The comb that slanted
upward to hold honey in is now slanting downward.
4.	The bees will clean this up and will not store honey in the inverted
super, but will move it to combs ibn boxes that are not inverted.
5.	When removing, tug on the strings first to make sure that the bees
have not chewed through them. If they have, remove the inverted super with
care

I am invariably heckled with some random anecdote quoted from an antiquarian
book written before the extractor was invented, so I will nip that in the
bud with what should be assumed about every post "Your Mileage May Vary -
One Can Never Tell With Bees"

Long ago, a fellow named Andy Nachbaur had a .sig file that automagically
printed "OPINIONS are not necessarily facts. USE AT OWN RISK" at the bottom
of his posts.

The current version of that disclaimer, periodically sent to all
subscribers, is almost identical.
