Save this Notice. We have today rejected some messages from members who
seem to have not seen this notice.

Moderators do not send rejection emails or debate reasons for rejection
so you may need it.

When you post to BEE-L, and if you care, verify your message was
approved and posted at
https://community.lsoft.com/scripts/wa-LSOFTDONATIONS.exe?A0=BEE-L&X=2336CEF7303288B0B1
If you don't see your message appear in reasonable time go back and
check it against this list and re-submit if you wish.

Rules are made to be broken and the moderators tend to be tolerant and
lenient, but why not be  one of the few who can consistently follow the
rules?  Others judge the quality of your submissions and your thinking
by your ability to observe these basic rules.

Reasons for Rejection
----------------------------

*Quoting and Extraneous Content: Trim your messages.  Some things are
flexible, but there are no exceptions to enforcing this rule.

* Quotes of previous messages beyond the very minimum necessary for
understanding.  Usually no quotes are required.

* Messy formatting.  Please separate quoted material and every paragraph
with one blank line.  Watch for folded lines.

* Quoting improperly.  For clarity, quoted lines must begin with >

* Junk below your own message such as parts of messages, long
signatures, commercial messages, etc.

*Excessively long and pointless messages covering multiple topics.
Brevity is the soul of wit.

* One inappropriate word or sentence can get an otherwise ideal post
rejected.

* Strawman arguments

  Personal Messages:

* Messages sent to BEE-L should be intended for the entire list of over
1,000 members and not addressed to individuals.

* Including an attribution line such as "On XYZ, abc@def wrote" or even
"John Doe said".  Don't do that.

* Comments of no value to the discussion, hair splitting, semantics,
personal asides, applause, being generally disagreeable.

* Grandstanding, adding nothing constructive to the discussion,
cheering, grunting, or being personal.

Copyright Violations

* Pasting in a copyrighted article.  Fair use allows a *short* excerpt
and in this case attribution to the source is mandatory.

Being Insulting or Abusive

* Words or phrases that could be construed as libel or insulting to
anyone living or dead.

* Rhetoric.

* Being argumentative.  Disagreeing constructively is welcomed, but flat
contradicting others is forbidden.

* Beating a subject to death.

* Trolling or going off-topic

* Unfriendly tone.  Disrespect shown toward others.  Words like 'silly'
or 'ridiculous'.

* Annoying the moderators.

-----------------------
All BEE-L content goes into the searchable archive going back to the
1990s and it is important to maintain content quality.

Occasional exceptions are made due to moderator error and special
consideration for those for whom English is not native.

Thanks for understanding.

Save this Notice.  Moderators do not send rejection notices or debate

Abuse of moderators will result in suspension.
