I think that too often people bow to the idea that the lightest treatment conceivable is the best approach. Too often people quit to soon after seeing one or two low mite drops or washes but there are still mites under capping and drifting in from surrounding bees. Mite numbers in your wintering bees continues to grow. I was nearly surprised last autumn by the resurgence due to an unusual warm November. Using OA vapor, I found I had to tighten the spacing down to three or four days apart and quit counting how many treatments had been done, until the counts went down and stayed down.
