COVID-19 has shut down a lot of bee conferences, including two of our own (e.g., Western Apicultural Society and the 4th International Colony Monitoring Conference).  However, Frank Linton of www.colonymonitoring.com and I have been working on changing the latter into a Zoom Conference.   As of today, we have over 40 presenters, and we will accept additional speakers through September 18, 2020.  If we've missed anyone with bee, hive, or colony monitoring devices or bee management software, please have them contact me directly at [log in to unmask]
Since many of the technology firms working on products and devices for use by beekeepers and bee researchers are located in Europe or the Americas, we have grouped presentations by topic.  Each speaker is allowed a 15 minute presentation.  After each set of Topic presentations, we will convene a panel of Topic speakers, and a Moderator will ask questions based on comments received via Zoom Chat during the presentations.  In other words, the audience can submit questions.
Also, no one wants to be on zoom for hours.  We will distribute the presentations over five days.  Our plan is to post presentation titles and times for each day, then have 1-3 hrs of presentations mid-day.  We will pick times that best fit the times zones from eastern Europe through western N. America.  Our goal is to try to avoid making speakers present very early in the morning or very late in the day.   Unfortunately, this means that the folks in New Zealand and Australia may have to set their alarm clocks or wait until after the conference, when we plan on posting the conference on a University of Montana Facebook channel.
We've just released this flyer - please help us distribute widely, and if you want to see the presentations and participate in the Q&A sessions, please register soon.  It's a modest fee of $20, and we have a cap of 300 on attendees.
Here's the announcement, minus the picture and fancy fonts:
