This is already the case due to shortage compare to the demand by industry and beekeepers, and it's a worldwide problem. adulteration of beewax is difficult to detect with simple means ; at least we beekeeper, might detect the problem too late, with larval mortality for example. Adulteration of expensive product has been a game for years ! Here is a presentation explaining the difficulty.
