Hi all
Not getting my question answered (must be professional haulers don't visit these pages much) I asked a friend who runs back and forth between NY and NC. He said

> I hate to say this but it’s the truth... most guys I know don’t even tie them down when moving them from the holding yard to out yards. Only when moving more than 20 miles give or take. The semi loads all use load boards and ratchet straps. That’s pretty much the standard setup for everybody and what we use. I have only seen two guys that use ropes in the time I’ve been doing this.

There you have it.
