"A new arrival is '2 Million Blossoms' (http://2millionblossoms.com), which is what happens when a researcher is hired to be the editor of a bee magazine, only to be delegated no actual editorial authority. She quits and starts her own quarterly, a mix of peer-reviewed work and general-interest articles in the style of 'Smithsonian' magazine, as the photography and layout standards are very high."

I recently renewed my subscription to 2Million Blossoms, and I agree, James: It's a beautiful magazine -- coffee table material to be sure, and filled with fascinating stories about conservation and pollinators of all sorts (including sometimes honey bees).

Where beekeeping magazines are concerned, I am happy to say that the January 2021 issue will mark two years for me at American Bee Journal, where I enjoy broad editorial authority. That said, any Editor who does not have the words "and Publisher" in their title will tell you that it's the guy who pays the printer who has the ultimate say-so if push should ever come to shove.

Eugene Makovec
Editor, American Bee Journal
