With regard to management to minimize the effects of varroa, Pete B
recently said "Tom Seeley has been actively promoting the idea of small
hives (in one box or at most a deep and a medium) as an approach to ensure
honey bee survival. Note: honey production is drastically reduced by this
method."

*Pete, do you have a source for your statement that 'honey production is
drastically reduced'. There are certainly a lot of commercial beekeepers
who would strongly disagree with your statement.*
