>or is the "zero pesticide exposure" an assumption?
How about an "informed assumption."
There is virtually no conventional agriculture in my neck of the woods.
Only a few tiny organic farms, adamant about not using pesticides. Neither
they nor our County has any reason to apply pesticides early in the spring,
since there are no crops needing treatment, nor mosquitos or other pests
that need to be controlled during cool spring weather.
My assumption is also based upon the type of pollen being brought back,
clearly coming from non agricultural flora.
I'm not trying to win and argument or convince the unconvinceable of
anything.
I and others have observed this phenomenon for years, and have no reason to
suspect that there's anything unusual about it.
