> What sort of bees pick an abandoned gas tank?

They aren't so much interested in the gas as the other amenities at the
station.

There was a swarm that settled on a metal railing at a gas station in
Brooklyn, but as I told the inevitable TV camera crew that showed up, the
bees plainly had only stopped to use the restroom, as the station was a
"BP".

And the station WAS a PB - I have photos to prove it, sometimes the puns
write themselves.
