I guess I am severely conflicted. I work in mining and mentor and coach folks with degrees, with trade tickets and others with nothing, I keep bees, grow a lot of my own food (vegetables and chickens), I am also a tree hugger and believe in protecting the environment (there is such a thing as too much resource extraction). My energy foot print is tiny (24'x24' cabin in the woods). I just applied for a grant to do a study on Yukon Honey and it got approved. No one is brainwashing me or controlling me. I thought it was important for the Yukon. The selection committee agreed with me.
My perception of the world is my truth and no one else's. I make decisions based on what I think I know. My behaviours is affected by my assumptions or my perceived truths. (Borrowed some of this from Simon Sinek). Too many people have been polarized to either extreme of the political spectrum and no longer try to understand where others are coming from. People jump to conclusions and assume the worse or make up stories that become truths to support their own point of views.
