> Is there a sustainable form of non-migratory beekeeping without almond

The question of sustainability implies a clear view of the future, which nobody has. I think beekeeping has been unsustainable -- for thousands of years. It is just like any other agricultural endeavor, completely dependent on market fluctuations.

I have a neighbor who runs about 500 colonies, never pollinates, made huge sums of money selling honey downstate in the NY City farmers' markets. Until, the pandemic closed the markets. Another neighbor beekeeper has seen his sales double, selling mostly locally.

What is the point? Success depends on a combination of skill, experience, and luck. Good luck to you all!
