We hold US and Canadian Patents.  Many scale-hive groups are promoting acoustics, but they have a very crude approach - e.g.,  large colonies are noisy, queens pipe, swarming colonies warble.
There are a couple of apps out of Europe - same limitations.  

We have 26 months of R&D and private beta testing into a Smart Phone based App using acoustic scanning to detect and rank eight different colony factors, 10 yrs of research R&D.  We're planning on a release of the technology in April or May.  Our system uses A.I., allowing our system to learn and improve.
There was a short article about this in The Economist last spring.  Wired will be doing a story on the overall issue of bee sounds.  I'm working up an article for Bee Culture.
