From my experience in my own operation, only about 2% of our colonies
exhibited strong mite resistance. So unless you're running a lot of hives,
and performing A LOT of alcohol washes, you simply can't apply much
selective pressure.
This season we'll be performing well over 2000 alcohol washes. It's a fair
amount of work!
