Absolutely true. The grafting technique has been used for more than 100 years and if done properly will yield excellent queens. Maybe we could get better queens than what are generally sold, but sometimes good enough is good enough.

The queen is not the only important member of the hive, anyway. To have a good colony requires more than just a prolific queen. The worker traits and genetic diversity are of a high degree of importance.
