I got a personal note that said in part
> I am a sideline beekeeper and I go over all the Bee L posts every day. I am not experienced enough to post much myself. My first few attempts failed due to how I replied -- so I have been hesitant now. Also I have learned there is so much expertise with the people that post, that it is intimidating. So it is huge service for me even though I have not posted much.
I would encourage people to send questions. If you are intimidated by the rough and tumble, you can write to me personally and if it's a good question, I will forward it on. Otherwise, I may answer it myself. Since I turned 70, I feel like many do: that much of what I learned no longer applies and a lot it I can't remember.
On the other hand, I have a library of almost 10,000 pdfs and access to most of the rest that are out there. I have always been a fan of libraries so for me having easy access to all of them is a boon. The chief problem with the information age is how to formulate your question so that the answer is relevant.
It must have been about twenty years ago I heard a medical doctor being interviewed on the radio. He said it was no longer about knowing everything you need to know but knowing how to get good information quickly.
A few years later I went to have a skin lesion looked at. My doctor, who was in his 80s then, was on vacation and a young MD came in. He looked at it, went to his office and came back in about 15 minutes. He was set to refer me to a specialist, but instead I waited for the old Doc to return. He took one look at it, cut a piece of it and sent it to a lab. It was a wart. The old Doc died jogging from work to home for lunch. Died with his running shoes on.
