Thanks Jim & Pete. Close but no cigar. I gave myself a dope slap just after returning to the barn to continue clean-up, organizing. All these ~100 brood boxes &~400 medium honey supers are on a concrete floor, stacked tight, with lids to be bee proof. I would notice bees or yellow jackets for sure. I do get what look like regular house flies at the windows but have never seen them or larva in any equipment. The dope slap was because I now remember seeing a line of ants, the tiny little red kind, crossing the floor and going into one of the stacks last summer. Didn't think much of it at the time, it is not something I see often. Hit them with a broom a few times and as the season progressed they disappeared as usual. Turns out they were doing me and the bees a service. Didn't touch any pollen or honey so I'll spare the broom from now on.
Paul
