The link is to "The world's most viewed site on global warming and climate
change" and has a different outlook than most seem to have here based on
the recent posts on Climate Change (a term that fits everything which makes
it meaningless as used) and Global Warming (another term which needs
quantification since you need to establish the period in question and the
cause).
The site is somewhat like this and has some very well informed
meteorologists, climate (and other) scientists, geologists, engineers and
lay people who have done their homework, just like this site.
So if we really say we are part of informed discussion, I suggest taking
that attitude to the site.
Back when I was very young (late teens and into my thirties) I loved to
take the other side of the argument because I learned from that. It either
sharpened my beliefs or changed them.
I know the earth is warming, but it is a recent occurrence and not
something that has not happened in the past. Books from the past show
several periods of greater warming than today and ocean water levels that
support the warmth. We are pikers compared to them. It was warmer at the
beginning of our current interglacial and the temps have been going down
ever since.
I was born in 1938 in Newport RI, just in time for the 1938 hurricane- look
it up. It blew houses from Long Island to the Connecticut shore. (I was
also in Hawaii when the Japanese attacked, but that is not weather related).
I also saw the hysteria in the 1970s about the coming Ice Age. There is
very little under the sun.
In the meantime, please keep up the drum beat. I just put in Solar Panels
to take advantage of government rebates and the paybact to me for excess
energy. Also a Power Wall and heat pump. I will not be around to see the
payback point of my investment, but if you all shut down fossil fuels, the
price of power will skyrocket and my payback period will shorten
considerably, so thank you in advance.
