colonies in a geographic region.

*  For unwanted honey bee species and for those pests and diseases that
cannot survive for long without a honey bee host (e.g., viruses,
Tropilaelaps spp., Varroa spp., tracheal mite (Acarapis woodi rennie), and
bee louse (Braula coeca nitzsch)), killing all managed and feral bees in an
infested area is the most effective technique for eradication. honey bee
colonies can then be reintroduced from areas where the unwanted organism
does not exist.  *
