In the honeybee, the antennae, mouthparts, and distal segments of the
forelegs constitute the main chemosensory organs . On these appendages,
gustatory but also hygro, thermo, mechanosensory, and olfactory receptor
cells are located within specialized cuticular structures called sensilla.
