The problem that Wenner faced was taking the "either or" position that
discounted von Frisch's findings.
Bee's don't limit themselves to only one way of finding food sources.
I've been paying close attention to bee behavior in the field relative to
olfactory cues since my (yet unpublished) robbing and drifting experiment
in 2018. Odor appears to me to be a huge determinant in both robbing and
drifting, as well as for foraging.
