 The knot that I showed takes longer to tie with tie rails, since the end
of the rope needs to be passed around the rail.

Aussies use a number of common practices regarding hive loading that I
found to be very clever -- big improvements over how things are commonly
done in the U.S.  The tie rails are one of them, as well as your snap hooks
on your ratchet straps, not to mention your aluminum ute beds with
fold-down sides.  You also are way ahead of us on boom loaders.
