"do you
observe that bees fill them with propolis?

I have seen about 2% of my hives fill in bottom entrances with propolis to the point only four or five bee sized openings were left. The vast majority leave them wide open. I have no bored holes in any of my current hives but did have such holes in the past. I never saw a single one filled in with propolis. On the other hand I had a mouse eat a major hole above the frame rest on the top super under the lip of the telescoping lid. By the time I caught it the hole was about three inches long and 1/2 inch + tall. The bees were stuffing it full of propolis as fast as the mouse was enlarging it.
