tip. I get the impression the larva/pupa is dying and falling to the bottom
and rotting. Doesn’t sound like what I have read on BCQV.

We see sporadic waves of this in our queen cells.  I've assumed BQCV.  This
season I took samples of cells with abnormalities, along with healthy
cells, and froze them.  Will soon be sending them off to a virologist for
confirmation of the causes of disease.
