> Has anyone on here had personal experience operating [a flow hive]
through a season?
I was not impressed by the quality of the materials or construction, the
extra weight, or the awkwardness of handling, compared to a typical
Langstroth deep. And the bees were reluctant to work into it, even with
heavy syrup feeding just to stimulate them to do so.
I inadvertently neglected to allow my bees to rob out the crystallized
syrup "honey" last season before a repeat test (thus didn't test extracting
the honey), but plan to do so this spring, to see whether I get better
acceptance this season.
There is another regular poster to the List who tells me that he likes
them, so I hope that he chimes in.
